What I'm Up To (September 2026)
In between
#Sabrena and I are in between things right now. Careers, life stage, where we are in life, all of it. So we put everything in storage and went home to South and Southeast Asia for a few weeks.
Tailored clothes
#I'm starting a company (still in stealth, more soon), and my new life needs better clothes. I detest shopping. But I found a good tailor, and I am so happy. Clothes that actually fit!
OASec 2026
#We ran OASec, and it went really well. AI is going into critical systems faster than anyone can figure out how to secure and govern it, and the people working on that problem, in research, industry and government, are mostly doing it on their own.
So we put them in one room for a day: safety and security researchers, CISOs, policymakers and practitioners. One stage, a mix of invited keynotes and talks picked by the community, on how AI systems get built, deployed, governed, attacked and defended.
Break AI before deploying AI
#I'm teaching workshops with the Asian AI Evaluation Institute on how to evaluate and red team generative and agentic AI before it gets deployed. It's hands-on, and you don't need to know how to code. We put people from public sector, product, legal, policy, risk, security and leadership in the same groups, because you need all of them to do this well.
There's a public workshop in Singapore on 29 September 2026, and a two-hour version at SINCON 2026 on 16 October 2026. We also do private workshops for teams.
