A few things I learned from independent living

11 Oct

no one will do your dishes

cooking is hard if you’re as clumsy as me

grocery shopping for one is harder

it is always going to rain 5 minutes after you put out your laundry

I need to learn to drive, fast

OMG I’m getting a dog?

you can always count on housemates for a drink

secretly, I’m Martha Stewart

WTF? You are learning to live by yourself now? How old are you? No one will do your dishes? Maybe you also realized now that no-one will wipe your ass either. I am sorry, but for someone who so arrogantly (but rightly) puts down all us "falang" in Vang Vieng, you come off as a spoiled brat in this post. Yes. all of us Americans are horrible, blah blah blah. But come on, this is some narcissistic crap.

So do you prefer living on your own or with ur mum, dad n ah ma around? =)
  • :) both have their perks. i miss them, of course, but living on my own somewhere else is.. educational! (my mum reads this!)
  • Alison
Haha.. educational? In the practical things?

Your brother used to tell me how he missed waking up on Saturday mornings with breakfast all ready for his royal highness' consumption n how he can't eat apples with their skins still on. ARGH.

As if apples came peeled, cored n speared with toothpicks!

I think you are doing your future spouse a GIANT favour living on your own now. ;)

    Enjoy yourself!
  • Alas, it's something to be relished as you'll miss it someday. :-)
