The Year in Pictures

Wow, it’s been a busy year.

January: Fell in love. With the best person possible, in the best place and way possible. I guess that set the tone for the year’s travel, and for life, in general.
Koh Lipe -- Prime lunch spot

February: Got too damn used to commuting 400 km for wine, ham, internet and other things.
Kuala Lumpur -- Neroteca

March: Took a picture with Sondre Lerche. I still silently scream about that in my heart.
I TOOK A PICTURE WITH SONDRE LERCHE

April: Went to a private island. It was awesome.
Nikoi island

May: Lived in a tribe in Borneo, bathed in rivers, got a tattoo. That we were there for Gawai, and that I understand neither Malay nor Iban, means we all drank way too much tuak. Tattoo turned out a good idea, fortunately.

June: Went to Roses, Spain, the very next day (from a longhouse); ate at El Bulli and at Rafa’s.
Roses - Rafa's langoustines

July: Graduated. Glad to have gotten out, glad I made the friends that I did.
:)

August: Started taking my writing and photography more seriously. Started work on a novel. Still working on it.
Puri - Rath Yatra in the Asian Geographic

September: Found myself stranded in small town Java, asked someone what peanut butter is.
Jakarta by Ojek

October: Moved to Dubai. Strangely enough.
Dubai - Friday evenings, Bur Dubai bus station

November: Finally made it to Istanbul. Also: saw Ben Folds and Josh Rouse in London. Flight connections from Dubai are awesome.
Istanbul -- Outside the Egyptian Spice Bazaar

December: Learned to drive auto-rickshaws. Didn’t kill any cows. (Do you see the fortylove.tv logo on that rickshaw?)
Chennai -- fortylove.tv on a rickshaw

Oh, and… launched fortylove.tv, properly. I’d head over there if I were you, to see M.’s videos and my assy ones (better ones coming, promise.. editing footage of me learning to drive auto-rickshaws now, and it looks very, very good… and I don’t actually sound like that on normal days, sans sore throat).

And because a full time job isn’t enough to keep me busy, here’s another project I’m involved in that recently launched: DE51GN, a design-thingy out of Singapore and Dubai (duh!). Happy holidays everyone!
