Like so many others I’ve drank the Kool-Aid, and have bought into “Web 2.0″. I’ve duly signed up to be in the mailing pool hankering after the exclusive beta invites. I’ve bought all the hype and spin. “Social”, “AJAX”, RoR, tagsonomy, make me so excited that I’ve unwillingly allowed them to spill over into real life.

Like when I was writing a draft for a school project.

“Democracy, Italy, The Rise of Fascism”, I wrote, on a piece of paper. A tiny word then found itself scrawled next to this… “alpha”. I found myself tagging the points: toresearch, intro, mussolini, church, war, etc; then getting annoyed I couldn’t make a tag cloud out of it.

I briefly envisioned the scenario in which I would offer my professors a one page submission for my homework: We’re not ready yet! Sign up to hear from us/get an invite! We’re working on it, it’s just not rolling yet.. but it’s gonna be great… it’s going to be like nothing you’ve seen before..

Vaporware homework sounds like a great 2.0 idea. Invites, anyone?

I know, it’s getting late, and one really shouldn’t be blogging at 2.30 in the morning..
