    In The Reins

Q: What do you get when two of your favourite indie artistes collaborate?

A: Seven fantastic songs. 27 minutes of bliss. You start humming, walking with a spring in your step. Nothing can go wrong today. The stars have aligned in the galaxies, and all is right with the world.

    In The Reins

Every track on this album brings out the best of each band - Sam Beam (Iron & Wine) and Joey Burns (Calexico) vocalizing together is an artistic match made in heaven. On the first track, He Lays In The Reins, you get the distinct impression this is Iron & Wine over a layer of Calexico’s unmistakable guitars and horns. It starts out like this but then develops further, never allowing one band to overshadow the other.

You will be in love by the end of it.

Buy it. Keep it. Cherish it.
