i can totally relate! i’ve been to mumbai at least 10 times so far, but every time i step out there’s something fantastically new masquerading as though it’s been there all along.
All that, and that, and that too, and then the way the taxi driver never knows where you want to go but will just lean out of the window and yell “UNCLEJI!” and ask someone, and the way no one has an address, and the way the street children will fucking break your heart with their sunken, beautiful eyes alone, and how everything is colours, colours and shadow, and how they hang little baby shoes on the car boot for luck, and all the kids love to dance, and the women wear their hair long and oiled, and in the highlands the cheekbones are as chiselled as the landscape, and oh fuck i want to go back to india too.

all my love
I love that place in a way that I cant explain to anyone. The reactions I get are worse and they make me wanna strangle those pple!! Haha Words like “Yeaw, yuck, how can you?” ... it’s completely magical to say the least. Kolkata and your words!

Adri: heh… occassional insonmia and night is the best time for some drama mama, mellowdrama writings!

Dubby: I need to hop on and ‘leaving on a jet plane’ soon… Prague is one of the whimsical choices. Perhaps I need to up and go and I thought it to be a beautiful city! If I go, it’d be before the end of the year.

yo. a post on this !! liked it.

I never noticed this on my RSS reader. NetNewsWire is eating up your entries. :)

the airfares maybe slightly expensive in Dec, since it is the holiday season. You can try Indian Airlines or one of the newer ones Jet Airways/Sahara. I hear JetStar Asia is starting flights too.

Do update me on your travel details. I might be in the vicinity duringthe same time, maybe we can meet up there. :P

what i love the most about india, besides the food, is the fact that traffic there works on telepathy. used to close my eyes when sitting in an auto, because every second felt like an accident of the verge of happening. in fact that’s how all my 1st days in india are. after that, you get used to it, and learn to cross the road with eyes closed and to glare and use some choice words on the unfortunate motorist who looks a tad too impatient.
