Flying Palaces

November 15th, 2007  |  Published in travel  |  1 Comment

When I was a wee nine year old, I mistakenly revealed one of my millions of ambitions to my classmates.

“I am going to live in a palace.. that is also a gigantic aeroplane.”

Giggles all around. At that moment I vowed to never again tell anyone anything, ever.

13 years on, a Saudi prince has not only stole my ambition, his palace-to-be is not just any plane but more gigantic than I ever envisioned, the lovely $300 million Airbus A380. As this unfair world goes, I bet no one’s laughing at him.

More A380 insanity: first class is no longer enough on Singapore Airlines — how about a suite onboard instead?

I think I’ll live in a train.
