OH MY GOD

8000 seats out of half a million 800 000 requests, completely filled four days after I wrote :) My reservation request read like an application essay; I was in half a mind to attach a CV. They started taking reservations from the 15th of October this year for the 2008 season in April-September (they close in the other months to experiment in their famous lab). It’s been my dream to go for a while now and I cannot begin to describe how ecstatic the four of us are to get a place on our first try.

Is that a long way to go for dinner? No — even the Arctic isn’t too far to go for El Bulli! The only thing that can make it more awesome than it already is: a meal each at Rafa’s and at Etxebarri.

All that’s left to do: have my places confirmed at Columbia and the NY office of a certain huge news agency I’m in talks with… (maybe dinner at the French Laundry AND Per Se.. but one three star at a time!).. and…

2008 is going to be the best year. Ever. I can feel it in every bone. Then figure out how I’m going to get to Spain for dinner over 30 courses and 6 hours, from wherever I’m going to be — the taste of happiness.

Are you sure you want to tell the whole world the date and the name your reservation falls under?

From what I hear about this place, it probably should read like an application essay. And Rafa’s may be next? The French Laundry? Per Se? Yes, your head should be spinning that fast.

Probably a good time to buy a real 4D ticket, too.

Rafa’s can be done with El Bulli; it’s Ferran Adria’s fave place to eat when he’s out of the restaurant. Just simple and insanely fresh seafood with sea salt. Cannot. Wait!

French Laundry and Per Se — just one of the many reasons why I can’t wait to live in America. I’m superficial that way!
