HORN OK PLEASE

June 16th, 2007  |  Published in travel  |  6 Comments

This amazing animated short follows a day in the life of a Bombay taxi driver who dreams of buying an air-conditioned car. Its title, of course, is taken after that eponymous phrase which adorns many taxis, trucks and other vehicles in India. Directed by Joel Simon of Flickerpix, in collaboration with Indian and Irish artists. Just fantastic.

I can only imagine the painful satisfaction they went through, trying to develop this.

Yes, I liked the part with the hijras too; I also loved the part with the jogger. It was just awesome all around. Thanks!

Ahhhh, HORN OK PLEASE! … my favourite Hinglish phrase. Grammatically all over the place, practically meaningless and vaguely obscene all at once. What more could you possibly ask for?
