Taking a Dig at SMU(T)

Hahaha. the mrbrown show (where I used to work) takes a dig at my school ââ¬â I am convinced that my screenshot of that school email (see above) provided the inspiration. You NEED to listen to this! The disillusioned of SMU (and there are many of you), rejoice.
Somewhere on Victoria Street, feathers are about to be ruffled (on level 7).

Don’t think SMU needs to go to such an extent. The figures are obviously presented in a way that makes the place look better than it really is. Don’t get me wrong. I’m a big fan of the school, but I’ve not liked the way its been marketed in recent years. Thank goodness I’m graduating by the end of 3A.
Also, “Backside Pokers” is a little harsh. I would prefer a phrase like “Statistics Masseurs”. Sometimes I wonder what the pioneer batch thinks of how the school is marketing itself. I know a few of them personally (including one in the poster). I don’t think they agree entirely with the way things are done today.

Well, that’s exactly how some of the current students are feeling too. They got many things right, but were carried away by certain.. issues. I’m personally counting the months ’til I get out. I remember the days when things used to be simpler, better.

Year 4 graduating student. I wish they were just honest and stop overdoing all this impression management thing. It’s just going to harm us rather than help us. Got brains one or not!?!

i am a year 2 SMU student. I have to say that quite a large portion of the SMU marketing is making people of the other schools comment a little sarcastically about us. So i guess they need to reduce their fervor a little and have normal marketing campaigns that entice students truly interested in the subjects to join us.. so whats your opinion about the new move to split the administration for the Social Science students and the Econs students?
