Year of the Pig Drive

Come February, East Asians around the world will “usher in the Lunar New Year” (can we find a better term for it, instead of always “ushering in the New Year”). The coming year will be the year of the pig. From now until mid February there’ll be scuttling to buy cookies, dresses, shirts (theme: red), barbecue pork slices, that sort of thing. Why not go all out and buy a 2GB flash drive that looks as if it was inspired by your Chinese New Year cushions?

Personally, a 2GB flash drive that size just makes no sense to me when you can lose present incarnations of 2GB flash drives in your pocket these days. But you know, we Chinese love everything to be as showy and as large as possible, and everything about the Chinese New Year is about how big we’ve become, how we need to get married soon, and did we mention how big you’ve become, and if your angbao wasn’t as large as your mouth I’d have punched you, so…
