Keep Going

originally uploaded by lloydi

There’s not only light at the end of it, there’re even beautiful beaches with a few beautiful people thrown in for good measure. Clear blue waters, sand not imported from Indonesia, Thai food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, my two favouritest women in the world, $10 a night; my idea of paradise.

When “things to do” are such activities as cliffjumping, snorkelling, hiking, eating, lying on a beach; a watch or other time-tracking device, sandals (and most of your clothes) are strictly optional.

And here I am looking out of my office onto gray skies and damp weather, with the prospect of more of the same in the upcoming days. You are pitiless :)

Koh Phi Phi, in Thailand. :) (sidenote: Alex Garland’s The Beach was filmed on Koh Phi Phi Leh, a short boat trip away from where I’ll be, Koh Phi Phi Don..)

    swissfondue: :) I know.

Wow, look at the color of the water!! Gorgeous!

Swiss fondue, at least u have a window to look out of. Some of us working in window cubicles with track florescent(sp?) lighting in ulu industrial areas, with ONE canteen!

The only windows I have are on my laptop eh.

Ballsy, remind me not to miss our flight. :) I’m quite useless without ‘the other one’.

Adri, for your next trip you may want to try out Molvania: http://www.jetlagtravel.com/molvania/
(this must have been the inspiration for Sacha Cohen’s “Borat”, which I didn’t see)

    1. don’t look for hotels, look for beach shacks
    2. stay away from the ‘main beach/town area’ (in this case it’s Tonsai)
    3. split costs..

i’m paying 500 baht a night, which is the going price for beach hut operations of that standard. about 20 bucks. 2 people in a hut = 10 bucks each lor. look at travelfish.og’s feature on phi phi on a budget ;)

Z: so Ballsy took ‘the other one’’s responsibility at the moment? haha.. i mean the responsibility to remind you not to miss your flight, hehe :)

night: it’s a confusing situation, mostly because i’ll be in laos when the two of them join me. naturally i couldn’t let z fly alone, she’d probably only realise she missed her flight two days later.

poppy: 2days later? you sure? haha.. but well done in finding Z a temporary ‘the other one’ to remind her not to miss her flight to meet the-other-one :p

z: if ‘2days later’ is true then is essential for you to find ‘the other one’ asap, hehe..
