Stepping into Adulthood

October 7th, 2006  |  Published in general  |  30 Comments

Now that the author is able to go on school trips, participate in community service, watch artistic movies, buy things on instalment, get married, all without having her parents sign consent forms…. So, happy 21st to me, and happy 3rd to popagandhi.com, and thank you all for reading. If the first 21 years have been anything to go by, especially the last two… keep ‘em coming. I’m doing everything I wanted to when I was 5, and more, will be spending it with my amazing parents and family, and beautiful, wonderful friends. I can’t think of a better way to turn 21. Startling, how different turning eighteen (shocking, how prophetic I was then), twenty, and twenty one is.

I got confused by my world clock here in SF, meant to give you best wishes at 12:01. It’s about 4:00AM there, I’m late, so …

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

You are indeed one amazing creature. Keep it up and may all your dreams and wishes come true.

    Don’t ever stop.

It is not quite boring if everything turns out the way you want them to?

I suppose it’s a little different when you plan for great things. 8)

(You don’t know me but since it’s your birthday and I’ve been a regular reader), Happy twentyfirst! Many used to tell me it goes downhill from here, but i say (from experience) x) that the unchartered years ahead is definitely exhilirating. I have enjoyed your beautiful writing and pics so…

Cheers to the traveller and enjoy the journey!

You’re 21 now. With it, comes lots of responsibilities but I’m sure you’ll handle them well.
I hope you have great fun as a legal adult and erm, do come down to KL soon. We’ll have a drink, talk some girl talk and just talk summore. Haha.
    Happy Birthday again. :)

As of this moment, I ply my trade writing in English, switch to Putonghua (Mandarin) if I need to, will banter endlessly in Hokkien and Teochew if you got me going, have improved my Thai by about 200% with room for more, and toil away at my Hindi and Bengali books, Language gives me comfort, reference, and a home.
