On a prepaid card that cost 4 dollars to apply, and 8 to start talking and messaging, a SMS to an Airtel message robot to activate, and 20 rupees a day (less than a dollar) to use, unlimited data (or so Airtel tells me).. On a wonderfully bright 2.4 inch screen on a new phone with a 3.2 megapixel Carl Zeiss lens.. What’s there not to like about India? I’m still here in Bangalore, staying with some journalists (which makes every moment from crossing an Indian road to having lunch, always very stimulating; and I might have lost my voice because of this newfound loquacious company). At other times, happily stuffing myself with street food on Food St, great Mangalorean seafood and Andhra food that is spicy enough for me. The weather is perfect at 25 degrees. Discounting the small issue of tomorrow’s 35 hour train ride.. It’s all a breeze. Check the Flickr stream for real time photo blogging courtesy of Airtel Mobile Office, and a phone with an integrated upload-to-Flickr feature. Obviously I have yet to figure out where the return key on this is.
