Funky Red Star

The Chinese version has more pop: according to government commandments, thank you for refraining from taking the stage.
Red Star, the old school Chinese restaurant for old timers, is one of the institutions of Chinese food in Singapore. As with all old school Chinese restaurants, there is a stage on which Chinese wedding dinner proceedings will take place. Quite a number of my own uncles and aunts were wed there.
This place is gaudy, retro, but proves if something works, why change it? I was dragged out of bed this morning at 7 ââ¬â a time I haven’t known for years ââ¬â to have a dimsum breakfast with my family. I’m glad I did. I know I’m not much of a performer but this is the first time I got commanded not to do so.

Red Star Restaurant was where my oldest uncle got married, and my grandma still has her mother’s day dinners there. Hahaha ;)

would you recommend a visit to the Red Star for Indian tourists? especially if you have ever tried to eat “Chinese food” as is served in India? :)

Heh. It is a great place to eat, though I don’t recommennd it without a local. I’ll take you! :)
Indianized Chinese food… I had to ask the white people what every item was. There’s a restaurant in Little India called “Fifth Season”, owned by the same people who run a fantastic Bengali and Punjabi eatery next door (called “Mustard”), Fifth Season specializes in Indianized Chinese food… like… wait for it… Chilly Chicken, Chowmein and Hakka noodles!
