I’ve been back a month, and working 55 hour weeks, every week, since then, so that I can leave again… in a matter of weeks. This time, for purely _professional_ reasons, with remuneration coming later. I think I’m nuts too so you don’t have to tell me that.
Now that Jetstar’s stopped flying to Kolkata (I must be the only person devastated by that), can someone tell me the fastest and cheapest way to get from Bangalore to Guwahati (by fast, I mean, less than 3 nights on a train..), with a stopover in Cal if necessary?
The Indian embassy ought to give me a 5 year visa. Nothing I said could convince them that I fit the “of Indian origin” aspect of the requirements for that visa.
Travelling alone is going to feel weird. Nobody to help me carry my gear, choose my clothes, put makeup on me, do my hair, pick out food I don’t eat from the dish, put up with my tantrums and pat me to sleep at night… and I have to carry that goddamn backpack and camera bag and laptop all by myself! Then again, I think travelling with someone with a Canon 1D Mark II and heavy ass lenses, with a laptop, who’s on the road 9 months out of every 12, might make me feel better about my load.

No Need New Visa
