Ah Pek Day
The Legal Janitor called me an Ah Pek* today. I decided to embrace who I truly was.
Checklist:
36 year old camera
White tshirt.
Obiang camera strap, also 30 something years old.
Backroom of shop selling clothes that look like that.
Shorts, with a fly that can’t stay up.
I love being an Ah Pek. And a cheeko one at that.
ALSO I am very happy to be going to the Cai Qin concert. With a bunch of aunties. That’s hardcore Ah Pek.

cai qin is for at-home moments..
thats is at a road near Khao San,in Khao San,walk to Guliver’s (the other end fr BK) , c tourist police dept,continue walking,c 3 to 4 road stalls that sell Pha Thai,beef mee,latest addition is the prata/pancake,ask for a special combiny of chocolate bananas(learnt that in Laos),cross the big road,walk straight until u c a seven eleven,turn to the right at the second right turn.U c Lumpur Guesthse.
Ano recommendation:The new annex at the Green hse(alot of Israeli) is clean,cheap and gd too.There r alot of rooms,and the annex is juz completed in Dec 05 :),if u cant get the annex,dun bother,the older rooms r too….. but the beds r super singles. :)
In Changmai,160 baht for doubles at Derek’s is a gd recommendations for cheap deals n high security,nice food.PPl actually go there for food.Derek’s is at Ta Phai road,starbucks is juz beside it!! The starbucks is newly completed,in mid Dec 06,it is directly in front of the Sunday market and walking distance between 2 seven eleven,the bigger seven eleven store has a club that opens until 5am,called Spicy,can b a lil cheesy but its alrite as long as u r not a farang.Bubble is the most recommended club there,so-so plays a variety of genes.
Most guesthse are around 200-250 baht,they can b found in Soi 4,5,6 of Ta Phai road,there r some nice guesthse ard Thanna Guesthse(ano israeli hangout-avoid!!)
For 300 baht,try Lanna,its beautiful and when u walk down the stretch of roads,u c the prettiest Chiangmai temples there :)
the bed at derek’s is rather hard tho…
