A fortune cookie told me: “Pineapple Tart Explosion starting.. soon”.
Not to sound like a sua ku, but where the hell do you guys get fortune cookies? I just suddenly realised that I have never eaten a fortune cookie in my life, ever.
I’ve never actually seen or eaten one. It just sounded better than ‘a little bird told me’..
Sorry I know this seems a little late. I refer to your previous entry about getting a pap smear. Suffering from stage 3c cancer now, I urge all your readers to get tests regularly, including blood tests for CA125 level. I had a pap smear done but it didn’t indicate the cancer until my blood test.
haha tell me about it man – i have like 5 boxes of pineapple tarts in my kitchen, freshly out of the oven!
Must. Resist. Temptation.
donaq – Visit all the chinkychonky chinese restaurants you can find and hope they give you one after your meal!
I once tried to make fortune cookies but they were too hot to fold when malleable and started breaking once they’d cooled down, so I ended up with a whole tupperware of discs that tasted like fortune cookies. :|
fortune cookies sold at 7-11, upper east coast road next to killiney kopitiam. why? who knows? but it’s the only place I’ve seen ‘em in singapore.
i’ve only heard abt fortune cookies in western movies, never actually seen them, haha. to think the westerners keep portraying fortune cookies as part of the chinese culture.
That’s true – I’ve had a much higher rate of receiving fortune cookies in chinese restaurants outside of countries with a high population of chinese residents.
you can find fortune cookies now in guardian(of all places!) huge packets being sold :P
Haha, thanks for all the information about fortune cookie sources. I’ll try to get my paws on a few, just to see what they taste like. :)
It’s also interesting to see every single chinese restaurant in US serves fortune cookies! I never knew fortune cookies went so popular until I came to US.
