Ampang Yong Tau Foo
The last time I ate there was the time I first went to KL (circa 1996). I really don’t like yong tau foo that much as to go all the way to Ampang. My brother reports from KL (on a separate trip) that a Chinese KL taxi driver tells him how to instruct taxi drivers differently according to their race.
“If it’s a Malay or Indian driver driver, say AMPANG YONG TAU FOO. (flat, one tone)
If it’s a Chinese driver, say am-pang yong-tau-foo. (with all the various intonations)”

how to say ampang yong tau foo in one tone, i tried and tried but i cannot do it.
i can do it. i think you need to be completley unable to speak chinese to acheive this perfectly. which i can assure you, is not a very useful skill. in the bigger scheme of things of course ;)

i send internship positions to poppi all the time, but she never wants to work. maybe one day she’ll pass the lists on to you.
