Case in Point —
Indian Friend #1: “Happy Diwali! You’re the first person I’m sending this SMS to. Guess why? Guess? I’m sure you know! You’re the most Indian person I know.”
Indian Friend #2: “I can’t believe I’m going out for a Diwali party. It really should be more appropriate if you were going for something like that.”
Indian Friend #3: “What’s my Indian friend doing tonight to celebrate?”
You see, this must have been some kind of cosmic joke. Something went terribly wrong as the stars aligned during my birth, and everything got messed up. You can’t blame me: my Chinese parents chose an auspicious date to get married, and it happened to be Diwali. My brother was born in Diwali month. And I, as an early indicator of what was to come, was so excited I couldn’t wait for it, and popped out a month before Diwali. Which explains a lot, really.
To celebrate, here’s NNMT(Not New Music Thursday). (Download “here”:http://s19.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1JLJYUDI2XWF70UKSF1A81PART from external site)
*The Happy Diwali Songs*
1. Kal Ho Na Ho
2. Kal Ho Na Ho (Sad) (Both obviously from _Kal Ho Na Ho_)
3. Raghupati Raghav (From _Kuch Kuch Hota Hai_)
4. Haan Maine Chukar Dekha Hai (From _Black_)
And as a special tribute to the Kolkata’s Pizza Hut.. I’ve thrown in “Pretty Woman” from _Kal Ho Na Ho_.
Enjoy! The “download”:http://s19.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1JLJYUDI2XWF70UKSF1A81PART will be available for seven days, and is hosted externally for bandwidth reasons.
