Berbuka Puasa
This was a chance shot I didn’t expect to make was lurking around the backlane behind Capitol Centre, randomly shooting, when I saw this family take a shortcut, probably after prayers and about to break fast. (Correct my Malay in the title if I’m wrong, please.) There was barely time to focus, I wish the man facing the camera wasn’t there, though, and if my eyes could still open I’d clone/stamp him out; but I kinda like this.
Two more weeks to go. Sigh.

I thought that chap was a nice touch actually.
Yeah it looks great when it is like that. Otherwise, it may look posed.
I think they are actually going to their mosque, which is thru the black gate on the right.
You can see the main building from the front, its a bit indiscreet and you might miss it totally. Its between the Chinese Commerce Building and the black Singapore Telcom building.
These people are actually Borahs, a offshot sect of the Shiite Muslim.
I’ve been inside for a wedding and the place is very nice. The wedding experience was once in a lifetime too.
The turning man made the pic, or else it just flowing cloth. Wished I could such pics myself. Good eye for a pic.
And two weeks to what? ORD? :-)
they are Bohra muslims, a Shi’ah sect, that branched off from Islam in India.
