Everyone’s favourite ick-monger
“As big and as important as Microsoft is, the coverage of the company is quite mediocre. This is particularly true in the mainstream press. The reason for this is that today’s newspaper and magazine tech writers know little about computers and are all Mac users. It’s a fact.”
Good God, John.

Ironic as it is, mainstream writers know so little about mainstream computers. What a shock. It’s the iPod effect isn’t it?

I have no issue with that part; but rather his linking their not knowing anything, with their being Mac users.
But I’ve always been biased and known to see everything Dvorak writes as fuckwitticism.

I guess most tech writers who made the switch to macs or started with macs early in their careers have a disdain for all things microsoft. When my windows bluescreened on me over the weekend I swore my next computer will be a mac – i shall not start on that. But anyhow perhaps his reference his with writers who are mac users, not mac users in general.

Tell him to come live in Singapore, where we have tech writers who know absolutely nothing about computers and are all Windows-only users.
